- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 (28-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 pound Rotini pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
- optional – garnish with parsley (fresh or dried)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onions until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in garlic, herbs, salt, red pepper, and flour; cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in tomato sauce and beef broth; bring to a boil then simmer for 15 minutes.
- Cook rotini according to package instructions; drain.
- Mix heavy cream and cooked pasta into the sauce until well combined. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
- Serve immediately and garnish with parsley if desired.
