- 1 Lb Package Ground Turkey
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1/2 White Onion – chopped
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried Thyme
- 14 ounces Can Diced Tomatoes (low sodium)
- 1/2 Head Small Green Cabbage – chopped
- 1½ Cups Water
- 1 Cup Quick Cook Rice
- 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Jack Cheese
- Chopped Parsley
- Salt To Taste
- Pepper To Taste
Instructions
- In a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown the ground turkey with olive oil and chopped onion until fully cooked.
- Lower the heat to medium and add garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper; stir well.
- Incorporate diced tomatoes and water; bring to a boil.
- Add chopped cabbage and quick-cook rice; cover and reduce heat to medium-low for about 10 minutes until rice is tender.
- Top with shredded cheese and cover for 1-2 minutes until melted.
