  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of chicken breasts with a mixture of chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, ground cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Grill the seasoned chicken in a preheated grill pan over medium-high heat until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour until bubbling. Gradually add milk while whisking continuously until smooth.
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Add paprika and cayenne for flavor.
  5. Pour the cheese sauce over the grilled chicken and serve hot.
