Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, toss the flank steak with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Place the coated steak in a slow cooker. Add toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, low sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or LOW for 4-5 hours until beef is tender.
  4. Stir in green onions just before serving and serve over rice or noodles.
