Ingredients

  • 45 pounds beef shoulder
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 4 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions

  1. Season all sides of the beef shoulder with kosher salt, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, onion powder, and black pepper.
  2. Pour orange juice and lime juice into a slow cooker and place the seasoned beef on top.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until tender.
  4. Transfer the meat to a baking sheet and shred using a fork.
  5. Broil shredded beef for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
  6. Serve garnished with chopped cilantro and additional lime juice.
